Competition will dig out best garden

YOU could give yourself an even greater reason to celebrate Cheshire’s 2008 Year of Gardens.

The Chronicle is providing an extra incentive to test out those green fingers as we launch our search to find the best gardens in the Chester area.

The competition has two categories: large gardens (detached houses) and small gardens (flats, terraces and semis).

To enter just send us a colour picture of your garden as well as your details.

You can post pictures to us or drop them off at our offices at Chronicle House, Commonhall Street, Chester.

If possible, we would prefer it if you could e-mail it to us in jpeg format – see the How To Enter panel for details.

We will publish the pictures in The Chronicle between now and the closing date in August and readers can vote for their favourites.

The readers will vote to narrow the entries down to a shortlist of three in each category.

Judges will then visit the six shortlisted gardens to choose the winners.

First prize will be £150 of Gordale garden centre vouchers, £100 for second place and £50 for third place in each category.
