Cheshire villagers’ fight to stop helicopter landings

RESIDENTS will fight a multi-millionaire’s application to allow helicopters to land at his equestrian centre.

Robert Lloyd, chief executive of the North Wales based Eatonfield Group, received approval for planning permission to turn Haycroft Farm in Peckforton Hall Lane, Spurstow, from a farm to his Rob Lloyd Racing equestrian centre in February.

The approval came with more than 20 conditions, some of which involved altering the work that had already been completed.

Mr Lloyd has now applied to remove three of the conditions which include changing the colour of the roof and wall cladding of the dutch barn and one which prevents helicopter flights to or from the site.

Resident Liz Chorlton, who lives in Peckforton Hall Lane, said: “We don’t want that kind of noise around our homes. There has been no consideration as to how this development might impact on our homes.”
