Your chance to become a Cheshire litter-buster

CHESHIRE residents are being encouraged to become litter-busters by having their say on the state of the county’s green spaces.

Cheshire County Council has linked to a new online service through which visitors can make their impressions known to the country parks managers.

Countryside Management Service Manager George Broughton said: “Simply click on to www.greenstat.org.uk and be guided by the questions. It’s an opportunity for residents to comment on the quality of their open spaces and how they feel they’re being managed and maintained.

“We are urging visitors to log on and spend a short time answering the questions so that we can analyse how we are performing. The data is important for management and can also be extremely useful when seeking grant aid.

“It allows our site managers to compare the results with others up and down the country and collect a national view about how we view our open spaces.

“Some authorities receive thousands of responses and we hope to match that. Who knows - with the real pride Cheshire residents have in their country parks there is every chance we can do even better.

“It only takes a few moments and is an invaluable help to ourselves. Cheshire has a great pride in its open spaces but we’d like to know what you think too!”
