Arson attack behind DFS store in Chester

A FIRE was started deliberately behind DFS furniture store on Greyhound Retail Park last night (Friday, April 18).

It is believed the contents of a nearby skip were dragged out and set alight and fire crews were called out just after 7.30pm.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: “Although it sounds like a minor incident there was a possibility the fire could have spread to nearby buildings. We have an arson reduction programme in place to cut down on these types of incidents and we advise retailers to ensure skips are secured and emptied regularly.”
