Arson attack on Chester garage will cost firm £200,000

THE owners of a Chester garage attacked by arsonists say it will take six months and an estimated £200,000 to reopen the business.

Darryl Davies, who co-owns Weston Grove Service Station in Upton, says the structure has been badly weakened by the intense blaze which began in the early hours of Monday.

It is unclear whether the building can be partially rebuilt or will have to be demolished and completely rebuilt.

Meanwhile, investigators have found a petrol-soaked rag and a plastic petrol cap at the scene with two unidentified people seen running away around the time the fire broke out.
