Chester man jailed for having 800 indecent images of children

A CHESTER man who admitted possessing nearly 800 indecent images of children was jailed for nine months.

Jon Woottan was caught after he met two teenage girls whom he contacted through through the internet website Faceparty.

Woottan, 42, took indecent photos of one of the girls, who was 17, and encouraged the other, aged 14, to undress on her webcam.

Lincoln Crown Court heard how he came to the attention of the authorities during an investigation by Lincolnshire police.

Officer seized stills and video-clips when they raided his home in Greenfield Gardens, Chester, said Phil Howes, prosecuting.

Of the 799 indecent images discovered, 49 were classed as either Level Four or Level Five - the most serious categories.
