Witnesses sought after masked burglary

POLICE are appealing for the owner of a silver Volvo to come forward in connection with a masked burglary.

On Saturday, March 1, three masked men broke into a house on Dark Lane, Kingsley, threatening an elderly resident.

They took keys to the 65-year-old woman’s blue Mercedes convertible at 8.30pm and made off in the car, later found abandoned near the junction of Hollow Lane and Westbrook Road in Kingsley.

The woman was shaken by the incident but not injured.

Police say CCTV footage shows the Mercedes travelled from the junction of the brow with Hollow Lane at 8.40pm and want to hear from anybody who may have seen the vehicle.

A silver Volvo estate was spotted travelling behind the Mercedes.

Police spokesman Dave Murray said: “It is believed they may be vital witnesses.

“We are appealing to witnesses who may have seen the vehicle travelling with the silver Volvo estate along Hollow Lane or anyone who saw the vehicle being abandoned.”

If you have information call DC Nigel Twigg, on 01244 613254 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
