IT ISN’T governments or politicians that will lead the country out of economic difficulties – it is successful businesses creating wealth and employment opportunities.
Which is why it has never been more important to support, encourage and applaud the men and women who start up their own businesses or develop existing companies.
The Cheshire Business Awards organised by Trinity Mirror Cheshire – publishers of this newspaper – are now in their eighth year of honouring the teams and individuals whose hard work, entrepreneurship and innovation help provide the jobs which ensure the well being of our communities.
The annual awards are now regarded as the most important recognition of business achievement in Cheshire and are sponsored by key businesses and both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils.
This year we have moved the spectacular awards dinner to the pavilion at Chester Racecourse, the city’s biggest venue, to accommodate the ever increasing demand for tickets from people who want to be there, either to support their own business’s nomination for an award or just to support the cream of Cheshire’s business crop.
The evening will also provide plenty of opportunities to network with other local business people.
Trinity Mirror Cheshire has brought the date of the awards dinner forward to Friday, September 16, so that it will take place at the Racecourse alongside a two-day “Celebrating Cheshire” business exhibition.
Having seen the awards grow over the past six years and the benefits to companies of taking part, I urge people to nominate their businesses, or someone else’s which has impressed them, and we will see you there on the night.
