New Food and Drink brand Taste Cheshire launched at Chester Racecourse

THE FOOD and drink economy has been rebranded as Taste Cheshire.

TV Chef and Cheshire Restaurant owner, Simon Rimmer launched Taste Cheshire at Chester Racecourse last Thursday.

He told 120 people from across the sector that the creation of Taste Cheshire was the most important development within Food and Drink that he had seen.

Restaurant Association chairman, Stephen Wundke explained how the development of Taste Cheshire would benefit producers, food retailers, hoteliers and with the help of Marketing Cheshire would put Cheshire at the forefront of Food Tourism throughout the UK.

The presentation included the unveiling of the new Taste Cheshire livery and featured the new website www.tastecheshire.com which is the definitive one stop shop for consumers who want to know about food and drink and a portal for the members of Made in Cheshire, The Restaurant Association and Cheshire Hoteliers.

At the meeting The University of Chester revealed the recently agreed Food and Drink innovation Hub is to be built at the University and would become the pinnacle of a Food and Drink pyramid

Anne Sharrot of Reaseheath College, explained how Reaseheath are making the route to market for food producers that much easier with their own incubator areas for new Food and Drink businesses.

Barry Kelly of Marketing Cheshire, said: “To see Hoteliers and restaurant owners talking to Cheshire food producers at an event like this and seeing the business being done between them is a lesson to many other sectors to show just how working together helps everyone.

“We are very excited about offering this complete Food and Drink package out to the Tourism sector.”
