Chester event to raise money for Hope House Hospice

A CHARITY fashion show in aid of Hope House Hospice and Indian street children’s charity Butterflies, will be held later this month.

Volunteer models will strut their stuff down the catwalk from 7.30pm on October 13 at Chester bar, D’ Meltin Pot on Watergate Street.

The clothes on show are all second-hand high street or designer labels and are available to buy after the show for around £5 per item with all money raised going to the two charities.

Organiser Sara Clegg said: “Hope House Hospice looks after terminally ill and very sick children and is a very worthwhile cause.”

“Butterflies is a charity I have been involved with for many years.

“Once you witness the plight of Delhi’s street children you realise need is a relative concept.

Butterflies offers an education programme, including training in theatre, radio and print journalism, carpentry, electrical maintenance and plumbing. It also provides health care.

In addition, Butterflies runs a children’s bank run by the children. They bring their small earnings to the night shelter and deposit their savings. After six months of saving they can apply for a loan to start a small business.

Tickets are £5 and include wine and cheese.
