Saltney store Oh My Dog offers plenty of accessories for pet pooches

SPECIALIST dog food and accessories are being offered for pet pooches from a new Saltney store.

Oh My Dog, based in Chester Street, stocks a range of healthy foods and treats, leads, collars, harnesses, toys, beds, shampoos, medicines, training aids, as well as household items to keep dog owners’ homes clean, hair-free and smelling sweet.

Store owner Gillian Stewart explained she was inspired to set up the shop after finding it difficult to obtain specialist dog foods not found on supermarket shelves.

She said: “I used to be a kennel manager a few years ago and found I was having to go on the internet to get food shopping.

“The store has some unusual ranges and includes wet, dry and even frozen foods.

“We also have a range of training aids, such as different types of leads and harnesses, and toys which are filled with food so the dog can be preoccupied with that for an hour.

“I stock a range of sizes where possible and want to cater for all budgets. Dogs are very welcome to visit.”

Gillian, the proud owner of three dogs herself, added she is wanting to work with local people, businesses and animal charities.

She said: “I want to work with local animal charities to help rehome their dogs and help them to fundraise.

“I would like any animal rescues who would like to advertise in my shop to help their dogs find the forever home they need, to get in touch.

“Also, any local companies who manufacture dog products or local people who make items for dogs, please get in touch, as I would love to stock locally produced goods too.”
