Customers at two Chester restaurants can raise a roast to William and Kate

TWO local restaurants are urging locals to dust off their regal relics for the chance to ‘Raise a Roast’ to William and Kate, with a free carvery.

Crown Carvery restaurants, the Wheatsheaf Inn on Parkgate Road in Saughall and The Old Quay on Station Road in Neston, are offering customers the chance to enjoy a carvery on the house, in honour of the forthcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Available until Friday April 29, customers are asked to take along a commemorative royal wedding plate, from a previous royal wedding, to claim one free meal, per plate.

Nick Evans, manager at the Wheatsheaf, said: “We always give our customers a right royal welcome but as the UK’s most regal carvery brand we wanted to commemorate the most talked about wedding of the year by offering our customers a token of what we do best – a carvery.

“It doesn’t matter which previous royal wedding the plate was designed for, as long as it’s not the upcoming one. So if, for example, you have a plate from Charles and Diana’s wedding in 1981, or Edward and Sophie’s in 1999, simply bring in your royal memento from the day and you’ll be able to enjoy a free carvery in return. Who knows, we may even unearth some antiques from days gone by.”
