Chester’s Saks hairdressers wins company award
STAFF at a Chester hair salon proved they have the business brains as well as the styling skills in a company competition.
Staff at Saks hairdressers on Watergate Street, have won the Saks Central Business Development Award 2009.
This award is given to one salon in each region which is judged to be the best example of what a Saks salon should look like and how it should operate.
To win the award they had to prove among other things they had a sound business plan, realistic targets, strong team development and high staff morale and motivation.
Franchisee Nicola Hughes said the key to their success was the activities the staff do together which boost morale and team work.
Last year they included competitions, a day trip to Alton Towers and team building days. One of the most popular team activities was a charity day for Claire House Children’s Hospice when they gave their time free, to offer a cut and finish in fancy dress for a £10 donation, which raised £410.
Nicola said: “I am overjoyed that we have won this award. Without a fantastic team and clients, it wouldn’t have been possible. We hope to keep pushing ourselves to ensure that we not only win more awards but keep all our clients looking and feeling great.”
