CHESTER Grosvenor Shopping Centre is continuing to attract new retailers and has recently celebrated the opening of new luxury furniture store Chateau.
Within the first month of opening, the home furnishing specialist based on Pepper Street, next to Habitat, reveals that trading has been extremely strong and believes it is due to customers enjoying the unique designs on offer.
Chateau sells a wide range of furniture including beds, mirrors and chandeliers.
The independent company, which started off as a wholesaler in Chester supplying exclusive hotels, country houses and castles, has created an impressive showroom.
Manager and interior designer, Leah Mckeown, said: “The beautiful frontage of our store has really enticed customers to come in and view our furniture. We offer a unique choice of quality products that can be made-to-measure and are of the highest quality.
“We have noticed a consistent increase in footfall and people have commented on how impressed they are with our reasonable prices and value for money. The fact that we are still selling at trade prices has surprised customers and we are delighted with business performance so far.”
The opening of Chateau follows on from the arrival at the centre of a range of new stores including ladies’ handbag store DSUK, Whitewall Galleries and ladies’ lingerie store Cachet.
Grosvenor Shopping Centre manager, Julie Webb, said: “No one can deny that last year was a difficult time for the whole retail industry, but we have continued to regularly attract new retailers and successfully strengthened the shopping experience for our customers. The opening of Chateau helps us to offer the very best choice of stores for the Chester shopper.”
