Legal eagles gear up for charity trek

BARRISTERS at a Chester law firm swapped their wigs and gowns for shorts and helmets to cycle 200 miles for charity.

Waverton resident Brett Williamson, together with Stanley Place Chambers’ colleagues Anna Pope, Dafydd Roberts and Sion ap Mihangel and Llandudno-based Huw Edwards, started their journey through Wales on Saturday.

The journey took them from the very North West of Wales all the way to Cardiff in the south.

During the journey they passed through Porthmadog, Aberystwyth, Llandrindod Wells and Brecon before arriving in Cardiff where they were met by Mr Justice Nigel Davis and other senior members of the judiciary.

Brett said: “It has been a tremendous personal challenge for all five of us, but I hope it will also raise money for some very worthy charities.”

Brett and Dafydd are raising funds for Hope House children’s hospices, while Huw and Sion will be raising money for Breast Cancer UK.

Anna is raising money for Sankwia, a village in Gambia.
