Guilden Sutton’s North West Equestrian store aims to fill void left by closed County Saddlery shop

A NEW Chester equestrian store is aiming to fill in the gap left by a previous store’s closure.

North West Equestrian, based in the Wilding Business Estate, Guilden Sutton Lane, Guilden Sutton, is now open for business..

The store is managed by Lynne Rowland, who worked for Chester equestrian store County Saddlery until it closed for good in August.

Lynne said she wanted to continue the link with loyal customers of County Saddlery, continuing to provide a service for horse-lovers in the area.

She said: “I had worked at County Saddlery for eight years, and in the last few months the stock had been dwindling, and the owner emigrated to Canada after the store went into administration.

“It was quite upsetting and happened quite quickly, but it wasn’t too much of a surprise.

“There is a big gap in the market in Chester for the equestrian market, and although North West Equestrian is a smaller shop, it has got all the everyday essentials.

“Many of the customers at County Saddlery were parents with children who were getting involved in horse riding.

“I wanted to continue to offer those customers a service.”

The new store is stocking equestrian items including a range of bottles and tins, supplements, riding hats, jodhpurs, body protectors and animal supplements.

North West Equestrian is holding an open day on Saturday, October 17, from 9am to 5pm. Drinks and homemade cakes will be available as well as a range of offers.
