Chester hair salon expands to provide nail and beauty treatments

A CITY centre hairdresser is riding the recession by expanding the services offered at his city centre salon.

Dimitri Ferdinand, based in Commonhall Street, now boasts a beauty and nail technician.

Jennie Grimes, 24, who qualified six years ago, had been waiting for the chance to work within a salon.

Luckily, while working as a marketing manager for Bar Lounge, she was introduced to Dimitri.

“I rent the space so it’s really flexible – as long as I get enough notice I can even open the shop late.”

Jennie also offers facial waxing and tinting, and is hoping to be the first salon in Chester to provide one of Hollywood’s hottest trends, a solid and smudge-resistant nail covering called Minx which has been seen on stars like Beyoncé.
