Natural skin care boss in line for award

A NATURAL beauty from Delamere has been nominated for the Northwest Women in business Awards for her online organic skin care business.

Lula Braithewaite, 34, of Delamere, set up her online business in 2005, selling beauty products which only contain natural ingredients.

She has now been nominated for the Growth Business of the Year award in the Northwest women in Business Awards.

The awards, organised by the Northwest Women’s Enterprise Forum, aim to bring together some of the region’s most innovative and successful female-led companies.

Lula said: “I was absolutely delighted to be nominated, it is a real achievement, and a credit to all the hard work the team has put in.”

Lovelula.com is based on the Barrowmore Estate in Great Barrow, where Lula employs a team of five to help her run the business.

Lula was born and brought up in Chester and after a brief stint away working as an accountant in London, she returned to set up her business.

She said: “While I was in London I started my training as a Naturopath. I decided to do it because I was very interested in natural products, and used them myself. When I completed the course I moved back to Cheshire and started up my own business.”

Lula said many of the products that claim to be natural in our high street shops are actually packed with hidden chemicals. The products on Lula’s website are completely organic and free from chemicals and are all made by ethical companies.

Lula said: “I believe that truly natural products are that much better for your skin, they have anti-aging properties and many of the chemical products on our high streets are just too harsh.

“I use the products myself and can advise people on the products, and the business has just grown and grown. We now stock over 1,000 products.”

Lula will now attend an awards ceremony inJanuary at the Royal Park Hotel, Warrington to find out whether she as won.
