Having run Shire Farm, at Cotebrook, for 35 years with her husband Alistair, Janet found it increasingly difficult to continue farming in the traditional way and maintain a profit so opened the farm to visitors for a trial weekend in 1999 and quickly spotted the opportunity to open to visitors on a permanent basis. The farm provides the perfect opportunity for visitors to learn at close quarters about Shire horses.
