A GRIDLOCKED M56 greeted commuters travelling West bound at about 8.15pm last night after a 28-year-old male was believed to be involved in a suicided attempt.
Cheshire police were called to the M56 near Hapsford Services to reports of a man who appeared to be standing on the wrong side of the gantry.
Spokeswoman Jacqui Hanson said: “Officers went to speak to the man and he was persuaded to come down at about 8.40pm and taken the Countess of Chester hospital.”
Traffic was diverted off the M56 and then rejoined after roundabout the other side of the bridge the man was stood on.
