A SPONSORED dog walk to raise awareness of Greyhound Rescue West of England will be held at Delamere Forest.
The walk will be held on Sunday, September 27, from 11-3pm with guided walks around the forest starting 11.30am and 1.30pm from the Linmere Lodge car park.
Spokeswoman Vicky Johnson said: “Volunteers from the Cheshire branch of the charity have organised a sponsored walk, to take place in Delamere Forest later this month. Delamere Forest is Cheshire’s largest area of woodland and makes a wonderful setting for a family day out and some fundraising for a good, greyhound cause.
“Last year’s sponsored walk was a tremendous success and we’re looking forward to making it even better this year.”
Walkers can choose from three different routes, or follow the volunteers who will be walking dogs that need rehoming on middle-length routes.
Everyone and his dog is welcome.
Homing Officer Lisa Webb added: “This is a great opportunity to come along and meet our kennel boys and girls if you’re thinking of adopting a hound, and also to meet some of those we have homed and find out how they are getting on.”
To take part in the walk, GRWE will be looking for donations of a pound a hound and the charity will be taking their new range of Christmas cards and calendars.
