CHESHIRE Police have appealed for witnesses after a fatal car crash which left a Chester woman seriously injured.
The crash occurred at approximately 8.20pm on Sunday (August 30) on the Nantwich Bypass close to its junction with Middlewich Road (A530).
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “The accident involved a silver Vauxhall Agila and a grey Yamaha R6 motorcycle.
“The Vauxhall was travelling northbound on the A500 in the direction of Reaseheath when it crossed over to the oncoming lane and collided with the motorcycle, which was travelling southbound towards the M6.
“As a result of the collision, the driver of the motorcycle, a 44-year-old man from the Rotherham area, received fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
“The driver of the Vauxhall, a 51-year-old woman from the Chester area, received serious injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital where her condition is described as serious but stable.”
Cheshire Police Eastern Specialist Investigation Unit are currently seeking witnesses to the collision and are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Sgt Ian Holley on 01244 613328.
