IT WAS a record breaking year for Tarporley High as 35% of students received As and 14 students achieved three As.
Deputy headteacher Lyndsay Watterson said: “Today has been an absolute pleasure for us here at school.
“They have been an outstanding year group who have not only developed academically but also personally,.
“Our students have contributed so much to the life of the school and to the local community, and are frequently praised for their mature approach, their teamwork and their leadership.
“Today is a fitting reward for all their hard work, supported by their families and the dedicated staff at the school. I would like to take this opportunity to wish them every success in their next pathway in life. We really will miss them all.”
There were many outstanding achievements, with Cherry Swift, Rowenna Harris and Richard Pover all topping the list with four A-levels.
Cherry will be going to study modern languages at Birmingham University, Rowenna will read law at Leeds University and Richard is planning to go to Sheffield University to read mechanical engineering. Jonny Oates will study mechanical engineering at Manchester and Liam Butter will study chemical engineering at Sheffield.
Katie Aspinwall and Kat Sissons will study psychology at Chester and Leeds Universities.
Alex Rollinger and Michelle Cordingley are going to York University to read English language and biochemistry whilst Zoe Barnett pursues her love of French and Spanish at Leeds University.
Katie Warren and Andy Barrie are planning to spend the next year doing voluntary work before starting their university courses.
