CHESTER’S Christmas Enchantment has brought an early present to 14-year-old Tabitha Lord from Malpas who has won a ring worth more than £200 from Rigby Jewellers in Frodsham Street.
The ring was presented to Tabitha by director Jason Rigby.
A large ring was frozen into a block of ice last weekend during the ice sculptures on Eastgate and Bridge Street. The real ring was won after correctly guessing how long the ice would take to melt and release the ring.
Tabitha was the closest to estimating the final melting time of 70hrs 30mins. The competition was run by Chester City Council, Dee 106.3 and Rigby Jewellers
Chester’s enchanted theme continues with the Eastgate fashion show on Wednesday, December 17 and the Roman Saturnalia Parade on Thursday, December 18, marching through the city centre at 7pm.
The Continental Christmas market is in Town Hall square until December 21.
Chester’s popular Free after 3 parking initiative continues into the new year and there is free car parking after 3pm at the Market Car Park, Gorse Stacks and St Anne Street car parks.
