ROADS with reduced speed limits now circle the village of Norley after they were assessed by Cheshire County Council.
New 40mph speed limits on Fingerpost Lane and Cow Lane and 30mph speed limits on Bag Lane and Marsh Lane have been introduced, replacing the previous 60mph limits.
Norley Road in Cuddington has had a 30mph limit extended.
The scheme was approved by the Vale Royal Joint Highways Committee made up of county and borough councillors.
The changes have taken place because of a revision in Government guidance on setting local speed limits.
Weaver County Councillor, Nora Dolphin, said: “I am delighted these changes to the speed limits have taken place, it will certainly aid road safety.”
“I am particularly pleased because people have been campaigning for a reduced speed limit for Fingerpost Lane for many years.”
She added: “The speed reductions also mean there is a circle of roads with reduced speeds around Norley which enhances road safety for everyone including children going to school in the village.”
