Speed limits reduced on roads around Norley

ROADS with reduced speed limits now circle the village of Norley in Vale Royal after they were assessed by Cheshire County Council.

New 40 mph speed limits on Fingerpost Lane and Cow Lane and 30 mph speed limits on Bag Lane and Marsh Lane have been introduced replacing the previous 60 mph limits.

And Norley Road in Cuddington has also had its 30 mph limit extended.

The scheme was approved by the Vale Royal Joint Highways Committee made up of County and Borough councillors.

The changes have taken place because of a revision in Government guidance on setting local speed limits.

“I am delighted that these changes to the speed limits have taken place - it will certainly aid road safety” said local Weaver County Councillor Nora Dolphin.

“I am particularly pleased because people have been campaigning for a reduced speed limit for Fingerpost Lane for many years.

“The speed reductions also mean that there is a circle of roads with reduced speeds around Norley which enhances road safety for everyone including children going to school in the village.”
