Students celebrate “Oscars’ night at Chester high school

A TOUCH of Hollywood came to Christleton when the high school organised an Oscars’ night to celebrate a series of animated films made by young pupils.

Using plasticine models loosely in the style of Wallace and Grommit to make a TV news broadcast film the youngsters produced some highly original and amusing films.

The films were made in the summer by teams of pupils from 10 feeder primary schools in preparation for their moving up to the high school earlier this month.

The winning films were shown in an Oscar’s Night awards ceremony on Tuesday evening at Cheshire View, Christleton.

In addition to the mini Oscars, senior pupils from the high school who helped the teams of youngsters in the project received special certificates.

The nominations and winners were read out by Eric Langton, Editor in Chief of Trinity Mirror Cheshire, who congratulated the pupils on their imaginative entries and the teamwork involved in producing them.
