Knife man charged at Chester shop worker

A MAN wielding a kitchen knife charged at a member of staff who was opening up a convenience store in Waverton.

The 19-year-old shop assistant was preparing for a delivery at the One Stop store on Guy Lane at 6am on Wednesday, September 3, when the attack took place.

Fortunately, the male assistant closed and locked the rear door before the offender had chance to get inside.

The man, who was carrying a large kitchen-style knife with a black or red handle, was seen getting into the passenger seat a dark coloured VW Golf with a partial registration number of FU 54.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have information about the incident to contact them as soon as possible.

The attacker is described as a white male of slim build wearing a black hooded waterproof jacket. He was also wearing dark coloured shiny tracksuit bottoms, black trainers and a black headscarf over the lower part of his face.
