PEOPLE are invited to a further public consultation event to give their views on the plans for Saighton Camp in Chester.
More than 60 people attended exhibitions held earlier this year by Commercial Estates Group (CEG), the company leading the regeneration of this strategic brownfield site, to offer their views and ideas.
Many of the comments and suggestions provided have been used in the planning process and CEG is now inviting residents back to view the proposed designs for the site which seek to deliver new homes, employment space, transport improvements and enhanced community facilities.
Members of the public are invited to attend the exhibition, which takes place at the Caldy Valley Community Centre, Caldy Valley Road, Great Boughton, on Tuesday, September 23 from 3-8pm. Members of CEG’s project team will be available to discuss any ideas or concerns residents may have.
Charles Johnson from Commercial Estates Group said: “CEG works closely with local communities across the UK to ensure that those living close to our sites have an opportunity to be involved.
“The exhibition will provide people with another chance to share their ideas or voice any concerns so these, as well as Government and local planning policies, can be taken into account as we prepare the planning application.”
CEG created a Saighton Camp liaison group in 2006, which includes councillors from the parish and ward councils, local residents and interested community groups. The liaison group meets regularly to ensure that the surrounding community is kept informed and involved with the proposals for the Camp.
Following this exhibition, CEG intends to incorporate any further comments and ideas into the final design for the site in order to submit a planning application later this year.
