Chester road closed after chimney falls on car

A CHIMNEY fell on a car causing traffic chaos as police closed City Road this afternoon (Tuesday).Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to The Stafford Hotel, City Road, at about 3.20pm that debris from the chimney was strewn over the path and road.

Inspector Stewart Sheer of Cheshire Police said: “A chimney collapsed onto a car on City Road leaving debris all over the road and pavement.

“Nobody has been injured as far as we know. The road will remain closed into Wednesday evening.”

City Road remains closed and a clean up operation is ongoing.
