Armed robber raids Cheshire village post office

A KNIFE wielding robber demanded cash from staff at a village post office this afternoon (Friday, September 12).

The male, who has not been identified, went in to the Tarvin News, High Street, Tarvin, demanding money and threatening post office staff with a knife at about midday today.

A Tarvin News worker said: “Everybody was okay, just a bit shaken. As far as I know this has never happened before.”

Police spokesman Dave Murray said: “A lone white male went in and demanded money and threatened staff with a knife. He escaped from the post office in a recently stolen silver, Audi A6.”
