APPLICATIONS for the top jobs at the new Cheshire West and Chester Council are due in by Friday (September 12).
Five of the six directors will be paid over £100,000 with the adult social care and health job attracting a salary in the region of £125,000.
Four others, resources, regeneration and culture, environment services and children and young people, will be paid in the region of £108,000 with the area and community services post pitched at £90,000.
Newly appointed chief executive Steve Robinson, who has been recruited from Stoke City Council on a salary of around £173,000, says: “I look forward to welcoming a dynamic and ambitious new team of senior officers, a team of individuals that the elected members and I can trust.”
He says the six directors will work closely with him and will form the council's new corporate management team.
“We are looking for people who have navigated and driven through major change with the ability to make their mark quickly and distinctly,” Mr Robinson revealed.
We have a unique opportunity to be a central part of a new and powerful organisation, shaping the council from its inception and developing a top performing flagship organisation.
“As senior officers, we will work with the leader, elected members, colleagues and partners to provide high quality services to local residents.”
