Funeral of tragic Chester teacher taking place on Friday

Funeral of Celia Ross takes place on Friday

FAMILY, friends and colleagues of mother-of-three Celia Ross will gather in Chester on Friday for her funeral.

Celia, 49, of Toll Bar Road, Christleton, died on Thursday, August 21 when her blue Ford Mondeo was hit by a silver Vauxhall Vectra on Liverpool Road, Widnes.

She was on her way to nearby Bankfield School, where she was an IT teacher, to congratulate her pupils on their GCSE results.

The church service will be held at St Werburgh’s Church, Grosvenor Park Road, Chester at 10.45am and will be followed by a private service and gathering.

Those planning to attend the church service should consider the lack of parking in the area, the closest car parks are either Pepper Street or Gorse Stacks.

Donations for Celia’s favourite charities are being accepted in place of floral tributes.

The driver of the Vauxhall Vectra, John Lee Parry, 20, of Gourley Road, Old Swan, Liverpool and Kenneth Proffitt, 23, of Mafeking Close, Wavertree appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court last week.
