Cholmondeley Castle takes centre stage for Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbonwalk

AS THE countdown begins to Breast Cancer Care’s Pinkribbon walk on June 9 we focus on  the setting for charity walk.   Cholmondeley Castle stands on a high rise above a lake surrounded by sweeping lawns and pretty gardens.   Father-of-three James Hall, 46, is the Cholmondeley estate manager.   James said: “This will be the  second year Cholmondeley Castle has hosted the Cheshire Pink Ribbonwalk for Breast Cancer Care and  it’s a great setting for the start and  finish of the walk.    “The beautiful gardens and grounds attract visitors from around the country.    “The Pink Ribbonwalk takes you through the estate’s grounds, and so walkers get to experience some of the  hidden delights that you might not usually see.   “I did the 10-mile walk last year  with my wife, Lucy, and it was a nice  chance for me to get away from the  desk and explore parts of the surrounding countryside that you don’t  get to see every day.    “The event is very well organised  by the Pink Ribbonwalk team and  the atmosphere on the day is fantastic.   “I know the Cholmondeley family  are delighted that the Breast Cancer Care Pink Ribbonwalk is returning and they hope the day raises significant funds for the charity along with the other Pink Ribbon walks around the UK.”   Pink Ribbonwalk manager Lucy Thomson said: “Cholmondeley  Castle is a beautiful location and it is a real privilege to host the Cheshire  Pink Ribbonwalk there for the second year running.   “Breast Cancer Care is hoping as  many people as possible will sign up  to walk the 10 or 20 mile route. If you  can’t participate in the walk but  would still like to be involved then  why not volunteer?    To register, or to find out more  about volunteering, go to  www.pinkribbonwalk.org.uk. Read
