University of Chester satisfaction levels increase

MORE students than ever are satisfied with their overall experience at the University of Chester, according to results published as part of the National Student Survey (NSS).

The overall satisfaction rate for the university was 84%, the highest score ever achieved and 2% higher than the national average and an increase from the 2010 score of 78%.

The National Student Survey is aimed at all final year undergraduate students at higher education institutions in the UK.

The survey asks the students about all aspects of their learning experience and the information is used by prospective students in choosing the universities to which they apply.

Together with a high proportion of other university of Chester subject areas, students’ overall satisfaction with English, History and Geography is well above the sector average.

Across the institution the survey revealed that students experienced a marked improvement with respect to assessment and feedback.

The NSS is published by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to help maintain standards.

Students are asked about every aspect of their university experience, including questions on teaching, assessment, support and resources.
