Your Champions: Clare Davies nominated for Champion of the Year award

A VETERAN volunteer has seen her community efforts recognised with a Your Champions accolade nomination.

Clare Davies, of Morton Road, Blacon, has been helping out around the area for many years in a variety of ways.

Clare won The Harold Tomlins Trophy in the Blacon Community Awards 2008 for giving her time to the local Cyber Centre, Brownies, Rainbows and her local church.

Adam Davies, who nominated Clare, highlighted her work as a Rainbow Guider for 20 years and as a school governor for 16 years.

Clare has been volunteering for the 1st Blacon Rainbows and the 2nd Blacon Brownies, and is a governor at Blacon high School.

She has helped out at her local church office by singing in the choir and being a member of the social committee.

The hardworking volunteer has also taken to the stage by being a member of the Blacon Players, taking part in performances such as Mother Goose at Holy Trinity Church Hall.
