Your Champions: Adoption Matters Northwest nominated for Team of the Year

AN ADOPTION agency is in line for a Your Champions award.

Adoption Matters Northwest, which has its Chester office based in Liverpool Road, is a specialist voluntary adoption agency which works tirelessly to find new families and homes for children and young people.

The charity was founded and originally based in Chester before expanding to offices across Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

The three offices of Adoption Matters Northwest have placed 3,500 children with new families in the last 50 years. They’ve included several groups of three, four and even five brothers and sisters placed with the same family.

Emma Bithell, who nominated the Chester team, paid tribute to their efforts.

She said: “They have given many children who have spent years in care a new family and loving home and the care and affection they deserve.

“Adoption Matters Northwest has worked for many years to help those children that slip between the cracks a real chance at a loving and stable future, and without this team the families of our region would be in a much worse place.

“Adoption Matters Northwest has also looked for more ways to help adoptive families this year by establishing an assessment, therapy and counselling service.

“The service was planned initially to meet the needs of adoptive families, but has been extended to meet the needs of a broader range of children who may present similar needs.

“Adoption Matters Northwest is now focused on helping even more people, in even more ways.”
