A BUSY fundraiser from Chester is in the running for a Your Champions award.
Tom Briggs, 18, of Hoole Road, has organised a range of fundraising activities, including taking part in this year’s London Marathon.
Proceeds from the fundraisers have gone to the Micro and Anophthalmic Childrens Society charity.
The charity is run by and for parents of children with small-formed eyes or no eyes, providing support.
Now Tom has been nominated for the Your Champions Young Champion of the Year.
Jo Briggs, who nominated Tom for the accolade, gave details of one of the fundraiser he has helped organise.
She said: “He has played for Chester Rugby Club and he helped arrange a fundraiser in aid of MACS and Destination Florida, which helps provide seriously ill children with a holiday.
“It went really well and the event raised more than £1,500.
“He also took part in the London Marathon and did really well, completing the distance in just over four hours.
“It was amazing as just four weeks later he also completed the Chester Half Marathon.”
