Your Champions: Lyn Derricutt nominated for Champion of the Year

A HARD-WORKING manager of sheltered housing in Chester has received a Your Champions nomination.

Lyn Derricutt manages the Tweedsmuir residential housing scheme in Vicars Cross, and provides support for everyone who lives there.

Her efforts have put her in line for a Your Champions Champion of the Year award.

Marian Fellows, who nominated Lyn for the honour, paid tribute to her tireless efforts.

She said: “My mother became a resident at Tweedsmuir earlier this year.

“I cannot express deeply enough the support Lyn has given my mum and every day I see Lyn going way beyond the call of duty – nothing is too much trouble for her.

“She arranges outings and entertainment for the residents, aided and abetted by her partner Wilf.

“She is on duty 24/7. If a resident is in hospital she visits, if a resident is feeling ‘down’ she automatically knows.

“No event goes unmarked – every resident is made to feel ‘special’.

“Tweedsmuir must be the happiest residential housing scheme in Chester. I know my mum is safe in Lyn’s capable hands.”

Marian added: “Lyn really needs this recognition of the wonderful job she does.”
