Minerva Shrine

Minerva Shrine, Chester

AT Edgar's Field by the Handbridge end of the Old Dee Bridge can be found the shrine to Minerva, the Roman goddess of war, knowledge, learning and craftsmanship.

The shrine is carved into the rock of a Roman quarry and is the only one of its kind still in its original position.
