Grosvenor Bridge

Grosvenor Bridge

AT the time of its completion in 1833, this was the biggest single-span stone arch in the world.

Grosvenor Bridge was formally opened in 1832 by Princess Victoria, who was then aged 13.

The bridge was designed and built by Thomas Harrison who died four years before it was completed.

Harrison's model of the bridge can be found opposite the Little Roodee next to Chester Castle complex.
