Chester FC: 100 goals reached and more Blues briefs...

Milestone achieved

CHESTER FC have made it 100 goals for the campaign in all competitions.

Steven Beck brought up the milestone when he broke the deadlock in the last Wednesday’s 3-1 home win over Salford City.

Neil Young’s side’s success so far this term also owes as much to their mean defence, with Saturday’s derby draw with Witton Albion being the 20th time they have kept a clean sheet this season.

Ray needs a miracle

RAY Mathias believes crisis-club Stockport County will need divine intervention to beat the Football League drop.

The former Chester City director of football and caretaker boss, who took over League Two basement boys Stockport last week, said: “It will be a miracle but I feel where there is still life and points to play for, we’ll be going for it.”

Flying start goes on

THE newly-created Chester FC Youth team have made it two wins from two.

Fresh from beating Borras Park Albion in their first ever match, goals from Connor Kendrick and Joe Ormrod brought the young Blues a 2-0 victory on Saturday in their friendly with Newton Athletic Under 17s at Cheshire County Officers in Upton.
