CHESTER FC have received a written reply from the police regarding the unsavoury scenes that marred last month’s vital victory at Chorley.
After Blues officials requested their view on why the big match was overshadowed by scenes of violence, Lancashire Constabulary have offered a response.
In a letter to the club, the police offered their “sincere apologies that this has caused the law-abiding supporters of Chester FC” and vowed to continue their investigations into the crowd trouble. They also requested further information from the Blues.
Chester general manager Pat Cluskey said: “We are happy to leave this in the hands of the police.”
