Chester FC: Tickets sold out for Blues awards bash

TICKETS for the inaugural Chester FC Awards Evening have sold out.

Forty-eight hours after going on sale, the last of the tickets for the Chester Racecourse event were yesterday snapped up.

Staged on Saturday, May 7 and hosted by BBC broadcaster Colin Murray, the end-of-season bash is sure to be a night to remember.

Chester general manager Pat Cluskey said: “Whatever happens during the remainder of the season, this event will be a night of celebration for what has been achieved in 12 months.”

After becoming a supporter of City Fans United’s successful bid to restore senior football to the city, Match of the Day 2 host Murray attended the reborn Blues’ big homecoming clash against Trafford in September.

The Liverpool fan, who now considers Chester to be his second team, will be at the front of house on a night when the awards for player of the year, players’ player of the year, goal of the season, golden boot and clubman are handed out.

Blues supporters will be asked in the build-up to the evening to select their top five goals for the season via a specially-created YouTube account. Guests will then vote for the winner on the night.

All proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Oswestry Printers, will go to the newly-formed Chester FC youth team.

The club are operating a waiting list in case of ticket returns.
