Chester FC: Blues’ homecoming match postponed due to FA Cup replay

CHESTER FC’s homecoming match against Prescot Cables on Monday has been postponed.
The Blues had been looking forward to facing Cables in what would have been their first competitive fixture at the Deva Stadium since re-forming from the ashes of Chester City FC.
But Prescot drew 2-2 at Atherton Collieries in an FA Cup preliminary round tie this afternoon – meaning a replay between the sides must take place this Tuesday.
As cup games take precedence over league fixtures, Cables’ Evo-Stik League trip to Chester has been postponed. Cables could not have been expected to play twice in two days.
A new date for the Chester v Prescot game will be announced in due course.
