Chester FC: Young seeks hotshot after Burns move falls through

NEIL Young is redoubling his efforts to sign a proven goalscorer after Aaron Burns’ Chester FC career ended before it started.

It emerged this week that the former Manchester Untied, Northwich Victoria and Gap Connah’s Quay frontman is unable to fully commit to the cause due to work commitments – so Young has opted against completing his signature.

That means the Blues boss is now searching for not one but two strikers to complement Adriano Rigoglioso and Rob Hopley.

Young said: “Aaron has told me he will not be available for midweek games because his work commitments have changed, so that won’t be happening now and it makes signing a forward even more of a priority.

“I’d now like two strikers and hopefully I’ll have one in by some time next week.”

Chester will welcome Evo-Stik League Premier Division outfit FC United of Manchester to the Deva Stadium for a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, August 11 (7.45pm).
