Chester City FC: Blues march on in FA Youth Cup

CHESTER’S young guns go marching on in the FA Youth Cup.

Having knocked out Nantwich Town, Marine and Lancaster City, the Blues won their third qualifying round tie at Thackley on Tuesday night 4-0 with strikes from Sean Breen, Ben Whitcomb, Jack Rea and Cormac Lee.

Chester’s reward, after four consecutive away draws, is a home clash with Morecambe in the first round proper.

The North West derby is scheduled to take place at the Deva Stadium on Tuesday, November 3 (7pm).

The victory over West Yorkshire outfit Thackley came hot on the heels of in-form City’s 1-0 derby win at home to Macclesfield Town on Saturday in the Youth Alliance North West Conference.

Sam Coulter got the only goal of the game for Chester, who are away to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

The Blues are looking for a UEFA A Licence coach to work with their Under 18s team.

For further details or to arrange an informal visit, contact youth team manager Billy Gerrard at the club on 01244 371376 or e-mail your CV to:
