Chester City: I have made the right decision to walk away – Mark Wright

MARK Wright brought his third spell as Chester City manager to an end because he does not feel the club will be able to compete at the top of the Blue Square Premier next season.

Wright said: “I could have stayed and taken the money, but that would have been morally wrong.

“I have won the league (Conference) before and, with the right resources, I could have won it again, but at this moment in time, where the club is at, it wouldn’t be right for me to stay.

“The chairman and I will stay friends and it is a big shame to leave.

“I can’t definitely say they won’t be able to compete in that league, but it’s going to be hard with the resources of some of the big clubs.

“But you never say never and I wish them all the best because I really want the club to do well.”
