Chester City FC: Mark Wright contemplating future

A FRUSTRATED Mark Wright is contemplating his Chester City future.

Speaking after yesterday’s 1-1 League Two draw at Bury, the Blues boss admitted he is finding it hard to watch on as relegation rivals like Grimsby Town strengthen their squads while he is unable to boost his own.

And with the situation unlikely to change despite Stephen Vaughan’s decision to sell the cash-strapped club to Gary Metcalf, Wright said: “I’m saddened by the chairman leaving. I came here to work under him again because I know what he’s like.

“I haven’t spoke to the new people, but I’ve got to sit down and assess my position. Win, lose or draw that’s what I was going to tell you anyway. I am a fighter and there’s something telling me not to make the wrong decision for these players, but at the same time I’ve got to look at it and ask, ‘what else can I do?’

“If I bring players in and those players aren’t right, I’ll take it on the chin. But I haven’t been able to bring any players in so it’s more than frustrating at this moment in time. It’s very, very hard not only for me to take, but for the players as well as the supporters.”
