STEPHEN Vaughan is challenging those interested in buying Chester to put their money where their mouth is.
The Blues owner has held talks with three or four potential buyers or investors, but yesterday he admitted there had been no significant developments since he turned down John Batchelor’s controversial bid last week.
Vaughan also said he had not received an official offer from David Jones, who is representing a German-based consortium.
Vaughan said: “We’ve had nothing concrete from him (Jones) yet. We’ve received no bid. The club remains up for sale and I continue to prop up the financial shortfall at this club.
“The John Batchelor deal is dead in the water, I’ve spoken to David Jones but we’ve had no bid and I am speaking to other parties about them taking a possible equity stake.
“I’ve got no problem walking away, but people need to stop talking and produce.”
Clearly frustrated by the way some potential investors have gone about their business, Vaughan added: “Football clubs attract a lot of egotistical people, but if they’ve got the money and it’s right for the club, we’ll sell it to them.”
